Kick-Off Meeting Last Night

There was a great crowd at the first community meeting, just over a hundred people attended the meeting at the Civic Center. Here are just a few big issues/desires from the discussion: traffic improvements; a sustainable, desirable mix of existing and new businesses; public and private property improvements; and more green and civic space! It was also noted that "Downtown Trussville" has been talked about and planned out before; how is this time going to be different and action taken? What do you think? How can we make sure this plan is actually implemented?

A summary report will be posted here soon as well as the presentation seen last night. Thanks to all who came out last night to talk about Downtown Trussville!

Downtown Plan Kick-Off

There will be a Town Hall meeting Tuesday January 17 to kick-off a master plan for Downtown Trussville.

The planning process is being coordinated by an advisory committee with representatives of the City of Trussville, merchants and downtown property owners. Community meetings will be held to define the vision for downtown, review plan development and define priorities. The plan will address transportation, design and retail development opportunities as well as other downtown issues.

Helping the advisory committee to develop this plan will be KPS Group (planning and design), Skipper Consulting (transportation), and Dr. Arthur Allaway (retail development).

Please plan to attend this important meeting. 6PM at the Civic Center, January 17, 2012.
